The Lonely Gentleman - Build-N-Share (211-212) Optional Challenge

The Lonely Gentleman - Build-N-Share (211-212) Optional Challenge

Finally settled into my new home, I decided it was time to start looking for that special someone.

I set up a profile on an interment dating site and was pleasantly surprised when I received  quite a few messages!

After a few bad matches I finally met a beautiful woman called Sarah at a little park on the edge of town.

We had so much in common and talked for hours so agreed to meet again.

Over the next few months we became closer and closer.

We shared the same values and interests and our nights out were never dull.

We had become the best of friends and as much as I wanted to push for more I was worried I would ruin our friendship.

I eventually decided that I'd ask her to be my girlfriend and invited her over for a romantic dinner.

Things didn't quite go to plan and I had to cancel!

With Sarah still unaware of my feelings towards her I started to drop little hints, like giving her flowers and telling flirty jokes.

However she didn't seem to catch on and just kept telling me what a wonderful friend I was.

Sarah came over for our usual Friday night movie and pizza.  I couldn't help myself, I just grabbed her, there and then, and kissed her.

For a moment she just stared at me in shock.  I was just wondering if I could blame the herbs on the pizza for my actions when she grabbed me and pulled me close, returning my kiss.

We never finished watching the movie.  We headed outside and watched the stars.

It was the most romantic night and Sarah agreed to be my girlfriend.

I felt as though my life could not get any better than this.  I had at last found love with Sarah.

Over the next few years we spent less and less time apart, our love for each other just growing each day we were together.

I knew that I wanted to be with Sarah forever.  I took her to the park where we had first met and proposed.

She said yes!  Despite the hail storm it was a beautiful moment.

A year later we were married.

Nothing fancy.  Just a private wedding on the hills overlooking Sunset Valley.   The Autumn leaves were breathtaking against the beauty of the sunset.

I gained so much being with Sarah.

She brought me out of my shell and often arranged parties for our colleagues and friends.

Other times we would just curl up together in front of the big screen and watch TV.

It wasn't long before we were expecting our first child.

When the time came for me to take Sarah to the hospital I just panicked!  She found this hilarious despite her pain.

It turned out we were doubly blessed as we returned home with twins Lisa and Jack.

And we finally got to use the beautiful nursery that was designed for me.

The twins grew fast and were a total joy.

I had the family I had always dreamed of.

Now the twins are coming up to there next birthday and will soon be starting school.  Sarah and I are still madly in love and we are expecting our 3rd child any day now, we were told it's a boy and we are going to call him Milo.
All those years ago when I walked into that office and asked for my home to be built I never could have imagined the love that now fills these rooms.
My life is complete.

A Ghost Story

A Ghost Story

For build & Share Comp #171-172

That abandoned house two doors down has always been a bit creepy.  Lights seeming to come on at odd hours... dead birds on the porch... its just odd.  Then, last night as I was walking my dog King for what turned out to be a longer evening walk than usual, I heard the strangest sounds drifting out of the window.

I'd heard the stories of how Joshua McKenzie had found out his wife had a lover, a young man she knew as a child who visited often.

A jealous and angry man, conscious of how much older he was than his young wife, he killed Pelham Christenson in front of his distraught wife.

He then drowned his wife Marjorie in the garden fountain.  Filled with remorse and guilt he took his own life.  It is said his spirit still roams the old bones of this house.

Yes, I knew the stories but curiosity drew me on and I headed towards the dark, empty house.

The air was still and quiet as I approached the old house.  I was amazed as the door appeared to fall open at my touch.

I made my way through to the back room which once must have been a quaint homely kitchen.  As I stood a strange glow caught my eye though the slats in the boarded window.

My body froze as I saw, by the moss covered fountain, the ghost of a beautiful woman weeping.

Slowly I approached.  As I reached out my hand to offer some comfort to the tortured soul she turned and screamed one word "NO!!"

You see, the torment of jealousy carries blindly on in the souls of the dead.
I should have stays away.  Now I will never leave.
